Engine and engine coolingSep 13, 2006 · NHTSA campaign 06V351000 · 692 vehicles

Problem: On certain motor homes built on workhorse chassis and equipped with gm 8.1l v8 engines, improper hardening during the heat treatment process can cause the fuel rail pulse damper retainer clip to fracture, resulting in inadequate retention of the damper. If the damper becomes loose, fuel could be pumped by the fuel pump into the under hood area.

Risk: In the presence of an ignition source, a fire could result.

Fix: Chevrolet and workhorse are handling the owner notification and remedy for this campaign (please see 06v225 and 06v289). Dealers will replace the fuel rail pulse damper retainer clips on these engines free of charge. Owners may contact chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, workhorse at 877-294-6773 or thor industries at 937-596-6849.

Electrical system:wiringOct 28, 2004 · NHTSA campaign 04V513000 · 1,107 vehicles

Problem: On motor homes built on ford e-series chassis , a diode in the anti-lock braking system (abs) module may experience an electrical short.

Risk: The electrical short may cause an abs malfunction that would illuminate the abs warning light, or the module may overheat resulting in a burning odor, smoke, and/or fire. This condition may occur while the vehicle is being driven or unattended.

Fix: Ford motor company is conducting the owner notification and remedy for this campaign. Dealers will install a new fuse in the abs circuit and install a heat shield over the abs module. Owners should contact ford at 1-800-392-3673 or four winds at 937-295-2983.

Engine and engine coolingOct 27, 2004 · NHTSA campaign 04V529000 · 1,380 vehicles

Problem: On motor homes built on ford e-series chassis, the air filter element material process resulted in an air filter paper element that can smolder or burn. This change in filter paper composition combined with the configuration of the air induction system, may allow hot carbon particles to contact the air filter element during certain driving conditions that create hot particles.

Risk: These hot particles may ignite the air filter element with the potential for air induction system damage or underhood fire.

Fix: Ford is conducting the owner notification and remedy for this campaign. Dealers will inspect and replace the air filter element. Owners should contact ford at 1-800-392-3673 or four winds at 937-295-2983.
