Problem: Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2022-2027 TerraPro trucks. The engine control unit (ECU) software may allow the engine to start when the transmission is not in Neutral. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect."
Risk: Starting the vehicle while in gear may cause unexpected vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
Risk: Driving without a functioning anti-lock brake system may result in the trailer not braking as intended, increasing the risk of a crash.

Problem: Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Anthem, Granite, TerraPro and Pinnacle vehicles, equipped with Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU). Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop working.
Risk: Safety systems that depend on the ECU (Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collison Mitigation System) may have diminished or lost functionality, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will reprogram the ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 9, 2024. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0472.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
Risk: An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will remove and replace the label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 28, 2024. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0463.
